Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?

She's about 5'6", with a tightly muscled, dancer's build.

2. How old is she?

Age is a bit of a difficult question, since she spent time in the Summerlands, where time runs differently. Based on her birth year she should be about 30, but to her count she's only about 25.

3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch?

When people are watching, she holds herself straight and almost stiffly formal. When she's alone, she's more willing to slouch and sprawl.

4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?

She's in exceedingly good health, and dancing keeps her in shape.

5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?

It's literally impossible for her to move with anything less than fluid grace.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?

She could be considered very attractive to the right kind of people. She doesn't see herself that way however, ever since escaping the Summerlands. Now she can only focus on the things behind her illusions that mark her as inhuman.

7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?

Clear and smooth. She had a faint trace of acne scaring once, but that got smoothed away by her Fae Lord.

8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style.

Human illusion: Dyed medium brown, cut short and sort of boyish. Texture-wise it bears the damage of multiple dye jobs, making it a bit rough and brittle.

True form: Dark black, to the point that it nearly looks purple, with a texture somewhere between hair and silky fur, and shot through with streaks of vivid blue reminiscent of a butterfly's wings.

9. What color are her eyes?

Dark brown

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?

Not in her human illusion, but in her true form she's thinner with longer limbs and almost no noticeable curve to her hips or chest. Her ears taper to points, and her eyes are slightly larger and darker. The angles of her face are sharper as well, pushing her into uncanny valley territory for some people.

11. What are her chief tension centers?

The base of her neck and across her shoulders is a big one, as are her feet and calves.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?

Ren likes clothing, and likes variety in her wardrobe, so her closets tend to be very full. In general she prefers rich, saturated colors, typically on the warm spectrum. She tends to pair bright tops with dark pants.

13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?

She hates ill-fitting clothes. However, due to the different proportions of her true form versus her human illusion, she has trouble finding fitted clothes that don't feel odd. She's started developing a taste for looser, blouse-y type tops, but she's still not entirely comfortable in them.

Conversely, dance clothes - leotards and dance pants and such tend to fit perfectly, no matter what.

14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences?

Since she's a dancer by trade, work requires specific clothes. In her off time she prefers to indulge in her love of different colors and styles.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?

Briefs.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?

She had a lower voice for a woman, and can deepen it further when she wants to remind people of her otokoyaku training.

2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?

She usually speaks evenly and clearly. When she's uncertain of her words she pauses rather than stumbling over what she intends to say. She speaks softer than she use to. Not hesitantly, but quiet.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?

She has a very slight Kyushu accent, though it's really only noticeable on certain words.

4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?

Japanese with native fluency, English with the fluency of someone who did very well in classes... that weren't taught by a native speaker.

5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?

Not really, no.

6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?

She prefers to think about her words, and would like to believe herself a careful speaker. But sometimes when talking about things that interest her, she'll babble.

7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?

She can be perfectly eloquent when performing, but in daily life she tends towards more straightforward speech. Still, she can be eloquent when she's flirting, though having people take her flirting too seriously can push her into inarticulatness.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?

She's decently intelligent, though most of it is book-smarts. What street-smarts she does have are recently developed, and mostly born out of paranoia.

2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate?

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?

4. What kind of education has the character had?

5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?

6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert?

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?

8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?

9. Is she more likely to act, or to react?

10. Which is her default: fight or flight?

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?

6. Does she have other close friends?

7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?

8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends?

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?
